    Speech analysis not working

    dachatz82

      Hello,

I tried to install more language packs for the speech analysis. The installation seems to work flawless, but I still can't choose another language from the dropdown menu in the analyze window.

Are there any other steps to consider after installing the language packs?

      Thanks for your help/insight...

      Dominik

          Dominik,

While the page says it is for both CC and CS6, the Speech Analysis Model installers available at http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/extend.displayTab3.html are currently installing into the CS6 location and not the new location required by Premiere Pro CC and Prelude CC. We have let the teams know so we can get the page updated. In the mean time, here is how you can get additional languages installed in CC.

When you run the speech analysis model installer it puts the files into the location looked for by CS6. You can then move or copy these files to the location expected by CC.

          Mac CS6 location:

          "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SpeechAnalysisModels/CS6/<language folder>"

          Win CS6 location:

          "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SpeechAnalysisModels\CS6\<language folder>"

Copy the <language folder> from the location above to the location below.

          Mac CC location:

          "/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SpeechAnalysisModels/4.0/<language folder>"

          Win CC location:

          "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SpeechAnalysisModels\4.0\<language folder>"

Relaunch Prelude and your new language will be available.

            Thank you!

I thought that it must be something like that, but I created a "CC" Folder and didn't try the "4.0" one because I thought that was from an old CS4 installation .

I just copied the files to folder and its working like a charm now!

              Same thing here !

              That 4.0 folder fooled us...

Yup I dowloaded the UK, England, Scotland and Wales etc... for starters it did not work in terms of actually UNDERSTANDING the dialogue in the video file, rather than the installing issue here.

                Some idea's:-

                1. Welsh, Scottish Gaelic & Irish Gaelic, we have shows broadcast in thease native dialecs.
                2. Surely if a presenter doing talkies to cam, VO etc, or there's a standard team cast members, one should be able to calibrate/learn as you have to do with most voice stuff.
                3. Overlays, like time-code in the Monitor view, my primary reason for using will be getting the text there for subtitling. But just so much more easy if one could select any meta data track as it where.
                4. The same thing really but be able to type in the Montior per a meta-data track.
                5. Language Translation Engine would be great too, but yes you really need to get the basics working first.

                Cheers,

                Samantha

                  Hi Samantha,

Thanks for your suggestions. Please see my words in line.

As to the native dialecs, using reference script may improve the translation accuracy somewhat. For example, you can list the native dialecs used in the dialogue in a .txt file. Then did the Content Analysis with this file. Please refer to the following screen shot. In general the language translation engine will refer to the script to do the translation.

Still a language translation engine issue. We have been taking efforts on it.

I'm not very clear about what you mean. Do you want to see the contents of the selected marker displayed and editable overlaying the video in the Monitor panel? If so, currently prelude doesn't support it. You may draw a feature request for it.

                  Best,
