1. Re: Hasselblad 24mm HCD lens profile?
Dave Merchant Jun 30, 2013 11:53 AM (in response to Richard Mandelkorn)If you have that lens combination you can make your own profiles, just download the free Lens Profile Creator tool and print some test charts.

2. Re: Hasselblad 24mm HCD lens profile?
DdeGannes Jun 30, 2013 1:41 PM (in response to Richard Mandelkorn)If I paid US$5999.00 for a prime 24mm Hasselblad lens I would be seriously concerned if it was necessary to have a Lightroom profile for the lens. I would expect the need for corrections would be non-existant.

3. Re: Hasselblad 24mm HCD lens profile?
Richard Mandelkorn Jun 30, 2013 1:48 PM (in response to DdeGannes)Please, there are profiles for every Leica M, Leica S, Nikon, Canon, Hasselblad, etc.......lens out there. Why would you even bother to say such a thing??

4. Re: Hasselblad 24mm HCD lens profile?
DdeGannes Jun 30, 2013 3:51 PM (in response to Richard Mandelkorn)Sorry I just thought there would be nothing to correct. It should be near perfect for physical distortion.

5. Re: Hasselblad 24mm HCD lens profile?
Richard Mandelkorn Jun 30, 2013 4:05 PM (in response to DdeGannes)Mu understanding is that if they'd designed it for zero distortion the lens would have been out of sight expensive (yes, much, much more) and physically huge. This lens was designed as a purely digital lens (not for film), thus the HCD designation, to be quite sharp center to edge, but as for distortion and uniformity, they opted to correct that in a profile to keep the price "affordable". Thus my query.

6. Re: Hasselblad 24mm HCD lens profile?
DdeGannes Jun 30, 2013 4:19 PM (in response to Richard Mandelkorn)I understand, my post was probably inappropriate considering I could not even afford the lens or the camera that it was designed for.
I just thought that for a prime lens at a fixed focal length, of the quality one would expect, for the price would not need help from a $150 software package. I once saw a post in a hotel elevator "How sad to have a Champagne taste with a Beer income".
Does the manufacturer supply the necessary correction info for third party raw conversion software to make appropriate correction.
