AttilaHan Jul 1, 2013 11:21 AM (in response to AttilaHan)One more thing ...
In the batch lens correction feature, if we choose "match best profile" option ... I think that it uses more than one profile if we process images in a single batch taken with different lenses ... right?

3. Re: Lens correction ...
Brett N Jul 2, 2013 10:26 AM (in response to AttilaHan)While Lens Corrections in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR) and the Lens Correction filter in Photoshop are trying to accomplish the same goal, they are doing so in different ways and from different information.
ACR uses the raw image information, which presents a number of advantages. It gives better results for vingette removal for one. But more to what you are noticing, it has access to more information about the physical properties of the camera (not just the lens) to provide a more accurate correction.
The Lens Correction filter, on the other hand, is dealing with rasterized image information, which is more limited and has less information about where the file came from. This results in more approximate correction (due to having to guess physical properties about the camera).
Additionally, some lens profiles are designed to work specifically with raw files, and will give poorer results with anything else (such as JPEG).
So you always want to use the Lens Corrections in ACR whenever possible. The Lens Correction filter does a servicable job, but it is not as accurate and will often lead to different results.
