TheMtyThor Jun 30, 2013 4:13 PM (in response to TheMtyThor)forgot to Mention there is nothing really fancy going on in my Render, just some camera lens flares, some bokah. regular flares, text (not Extruded) and a gradient back ground, blue if you must know

Rick Gerard Jun 30, 2013 4:40 PM (in response to TheMtyThor)Make sure that you do not have Ray-traced rendering turned on.

Todd_Kopriva Jun 30, 2013 11:18 PM (in response to TheMtyThor)What are your Memory & Multiprocessing preference settings?
See this page for resources about making After Effects work faster: http://adobe.ly/eV2zE7

TheMtyThor Jul 1, 2013 9:07 AM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)Todd,
i have all memory set for adobe products with multiprocessing checked, all Cache drives are 1.5 TB Seagate 7200 and are open drives for CACHE, meaning nothing else is stored on them. i will check out the page. i did confirm the difference in CC vs CS6 using AVI, there is about a 23 minute diffference with CC on the losing side. rendering the same project with teh same settings. about the best i can guess, the Flares and Camera Lens Flares might be eating up resources, but still quicker to render in CS6. thanks again

Rick Gerard Jul 1, 2013 9:30 AM (in response to TheMtyThor)Turn off MP. An unsupported plug-in will kill render times.

10. Re: Slow Render After Effects CC H.264 Windows AVI
Rick Gerard Jul 1, 2013 5:21 PM (in response to TheMtyThor)You've got a mis match there. 12 cores but 7 and 2 is nine. Try balancing things out.
I still think that your project will render faster with MP turned off because we don't know what coded you are rendering to. MP will work reliably rendering an image sequence but there are a bunch of codecs that just bog it down because a movie usually has to be rendered sequentially and rendering multiple frames simultaneously isn't linear at all.

11. Re: Slow Render After Effects CC H.264 Windows AVI
TheMtyThor Jul 1, 2013 6:32 PM (in response to Rick Gerard)A 980x Intel processor has 6 Cores 12 Threads, this is basically my same set up in CS6.You're looking at that Number incorrectly. the system has 12 Threads/Virtual Coures. I alotted Each processor 2 GIG Mem and in doing so, AE chose to use 7 processors for multi threading. the others are reserved for other applications as indicated by the 6 gig memory left for other applications outside the Adobe family. i have neer had a problem with the multiprocessing being checked before
