Need help with sound

I cannot get sound on you tube- there is an X next to the sound icon which I cannot remove.  I'm using Windows 7 & Firefox.  Flash player is 11.7.700.224.  Would appreciate help.

Click on the speaker icon, hold/drag the slider to increase the volume all in a single action. You may have to do it more than once.

If this does not help look if you have recently installed an ad blocker or any other add-on(s) in your browser try disabling it/them as they can interfere with site functionality.You might try also to clear your browser of it's cache/cookies.
