invisiblearts Jul 12, 2013 1:33 PM (in response to petergaraway)I'll review those tips, but I actually run my audio through my Black Magic Decklink HD Extreme card via a little mixer and studio monitors, so I don't thing the built-in Input/Output option would work for me. I'll check out that link, but any other suspects?
Thanks for your suggestion!

On a general note, you should always mention third-party hardware in your original post, even if you don't think it relevant. We may know of a connection between hardware and an issue that you don't.

invisiblearts Jul 12, 2013 1:38 PM (in response to JSS1138)Sorry about that Jim. I actually had an earlier draft of this post that included that information, but forgot to when I rewrote it today. I'll be sure and include that in the future.

Mark Mapes Jul 12, 2013 10:15 PM (in response to invisiblearts)What kind of content? Codec? File type? Where did it come from? If QuickTime is not on the latest version, try updating that. I'm not clear on whether both video and audio are missing in action. Have you installed the patch for PPRO that was released this week? It includes some improvements to help PPRO work and play better with sound cards on Mac.

Content varies. I've tried projects with RED footage, a project that was built with stills only, a project that has many different kinds of sources, but so far I can't get anything to playback.
Preview files are i-frame based mpegs, same as just about every other sequence I usually work in.
Both quicktime and CC patches are up to date.
It's not a question of audio or video missing, it's that playback does not exist. I hit play via the numerous ways playback can be initiated, but nothing works. Is there some kind of report I can generate within premiere so that you guys at Adobe can look at it? This is kind of a show stopper.
Thanks for your feedback so far.

Yes sir. CUDA and Decklink software are both up to date. I'm currently trying another uninstall/reinstall. We'll see what happens.

invisiblearts Jul 15, 2013 3:45 PM (in response to invisiblearts)UPDATE: Playback has magically begun, I have no understanding as to why. But now I get no audio via my Blackmagic Decklink Extreme Card, similar to what's being reported in this thread. Audio works in CS6, but not CC.

Have you contacted Blackmagic support? What do they have to say?
Thanks,

Hi Kevin,
In the past when I've had problems with my Blackmagic Card, I've found that their technical support has not been very helpful. I've kind of given up on them. I suppose I could reach out to them again to see if they know of any issues.
Thanks.

I just spoke with a Blackmagic rep for about 30 minutes. Here's what we've determined. For some reason, CC is not seeing "Blackmagic Audio" in the "Adobe Desktop Audio" dropdown menu. I have all of the default system options, but no sign of "Blackmagic Audio." Though the Blackmagic mapping does show up within the Output mapping. On their system at Blackmagic, it was showing up within their dropdown menu, but not mine. We did a Desktop Video uninstall/reinstall, but still no recognition of the Blackmagic Audio as a choice. It is still an option within my CS6, however.
So, what is my course of action here? Blackmagic has reached the end of their solution trail, and can't really offer me any support. Is there anything you all at Adobe can recommend i try? For now I guess I'll route my built in system output to a different input on my sound mixer, but I'd love to be able to get this working like it does in CS6.
Thanks!
