Have now downloaded Flash Player numerous times (HP Envy, Win 7, IE 10) with the installer returning a successful message, the programs appearing in the Control Panel (uninstall list) but the program NOT appearing in the list of All Programs and not being recognised. The security settings have been confirmed with the info online wiht IE9 - again without changing the outcome.

Any suggestions?

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program, so it won't appear in your Programs.

So what exactly does "not working" mean?  See also

Hi Pat,

Basically – nothing that requires Flash Player will display ….

This includes Adobe’s own “if you can see this, then you have the latest FP” – yet under the installed programs list, Flash Player appears

I previously tried all the steps in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/885448 - even though I am using IE10, not IE9; and similarly with http://forums.adobe.com/thread/867968

Does it say 'ActiveX' on that line?  That is the add-on for IE.

If yes, and the add-on is enabled, and ActiveX filtering disabled, then I don't understand why it does not work as expected.

The only suggestion I have left is to try a clean install: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/928315
