I am having problems getting sound from video and YouTube due to recent installation of Flash Player 11.8.800.94 on  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5. I have installed, deleted and re-installed with no luck.

Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac /install_flash_player_11_osx....

Quit your browser.

Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins

Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there

Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe

Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)

Empty the trash

Reboot

Mount the DMG and run the installer.

Perfect, this did the job.  I think rebooting after deleting the folder might have done the trick.  Thank you!!!

Uninstall from the Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs

Uninstall BOTH Flash Player and Shockwave plugins

Download the offline installer from here: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player-windows.html#main-pars_hea...

Download shockwave again and reinstall it: http://get.adobe.com/shockwave/

Reboot if necessary.

ok, I found the problem, I have an Intel motherboard (the same one for the last 3 years) with integrated realtek audio. It has a feature called multi-streaming playback, which always has been on.

With flash 11,8,800,94 every time I reboot there is no sound in flash,  all I have to do is turn multi-streaming playback off, then turn it on again and restart the browser (either firefox or chrome) or reload the page and voilĆ” sound in flash as usual, weird isn't?

here is a document describing  multistreaming playback
