Creative Cloud files missing essential features?

    andy-mario Community Member

I started from today to introduce Creative Cloud file previews to my clients, but as soon as I tested the workflow with one client, I noticed that new comments still has no notification system.

This makes CC files pretty unusable for me. For now, I can live without files sync and manually adding files, but this one I think it's a very basic one, I send out 50/100 files a week for client review, and it's impossible to check on every file if there's a feedback (and comments are on the second tab, so you have to make one more click to switch to the right tab). At least, please put a notification in the file manager, giving us a way to sort the latest commented files.

Another big missing point for me is the impossibility to share video files. It's crazy we have a ton of Adobe video apps, and I have to use alternative services to show a preview of an mp4 to my client.

And last, I don't want to be the next asking for folder sharing here, but it's since last summer Adobe it's in "coming soon" mode for this feature.

I'm really sad having that empty 20gb space and a great looking platform like Creative Cloud files, but I think some essential features to work in a real world environment are missing (obviously we can integrate with other services, I'm talking about a full creative cloud workflow).

I strongly hope Adobe is doing something to improve the platform.

What do you think, are you using creative cloud in your daily workflow?

We setup "Own Cloud" and we are trying to get our money back for the teams account we are stuck with.

We have filed a complaint with the credit card companies that the monthly subscription were purchased under false pretences and the features are not functional.

There is no advantage to the team price, we have repeatedly asked for a credit and we were told:

Pramod: Once when we receive a response from our higher level team we will email you the update.

Pramod: I am sorry, Daniel.  We do not have enough resources to investigate further on this request.  Hence the issue has been escalated to our higher level to work on this request.  You will be notified via email at the earliest.

They can't apply a credit to an account that they are charging for services that don't exist.

How can they get away with this? Is this not a crime?

About that one, I forgot to specify that Creative Cloud doesn't accept video files (you can upload, download, but no "dropbox"like preview) .

Just to be clear, I'm not complaining. I am really satisfied with CC apps and I am a happy subscriber since day one (april 2012). I consider the "files sharing" platform an extra and I can wait until it's complete.

Since I didn't found any updated information about future (near or far) releases, I was just wondering if Adobe is planning to release such features in the next months, to plan whether to start using creative cloud for client previews or stick to my actual methods (that I actually pay for) for more time. I'm doing this consideration as a single freelancer studio (not an agency/team).

I'd like to update this thread, as I experiment in a real-scenario the all creativecloud workflow.

Today, the first problem I'm facing, is the quality of uploaded images.
No matter what resolution or size (tried uploading the same file at various sizes) when it's published in creative cloud it is displayed with an unwanted "glow" effect and strong artifacts. Text is almost unreadable in some areas. This happens less with simple elements like logos on a white background, but it's very strong on complex images, i.e. a poster.

And, if I choose to download the image, the downloaded one is NOT the original file, but the compressed one, with artifacts.

I tried with several jpg and png24 exported (save for web) from illustrator/photoshop at high and medium resolution.

                    Am I doing something wrong?

                    EDIT:

I've managed to improve the quality uploading png24 full quality, the resize/compression is better. Problem happened on a single specific image. Sizing up the image removed some of the artifacts.
