Go to: MacHD/Library/Internet Plug ins

You should see a Flash Player.plugin file.

In Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe - you should see a Flash Player folder that has a Flash Player.plugin file as well

These are your"Flash Player" plugins for your browsers

Unless you have Flash Professional, there is no standalone Flash Player.

Thanks for the quick answer.

The Flash Player.plugin is indeed in place in the Internet Plugins

But it is not in the ApplicationSupport/Adobe folder (that has a Flash Player Install Manager folder, a Reader folder, and a HelpCfgfolder.

And the Flash player is not working.

Download the offline installer here: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/licensing/mac/install_flash_player_11_osx.d...

If it won't download directly, right click and "Save as"

Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins

Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there

Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe

Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)

Empty the trash

Reboot

Mount the DMG and run the installer.

BEFORE opening any Flash content in Safari, open Safari>Preferences, and check the Security tab to make sure "Allow all other plugins" is checked.

Tried something else. Youtube works only with Flash Player, right?? And I can see videos on Youtube. So the problem is not with the Flash Player (which should actually now be termed Flash plugin, isn't it?) - the problem is the site i'm trying to view....

Thanks everybody for the help!!!

Not if you are viewing the videos in HTML5 mode.

Can you see the Flash animation at http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/find-version-flash-player.html ?

Problem solved

I changed the cookie-allowances for the site I was trying to use (Uitzending gemist)...

As the problem occurred right after I installed a new version of the Flash player, I assumed the problem was plug-in.

Sometimes (not always) an update will reset cookie settings. Glad you got it worked out.

Hi,

Adobe flash player is a plugin , you will not be able to launch the flash player as you can do with other player.

Adobe flash player automatically runs when you try to play a flash video online.

What is the exact error ?
