1. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
anssikumpula Jul 23, 2013 9:03 AM (in response to anssikumpula)Something weird is going on, resizing Text Frame from corner handle with Selection Tool and CMD pushed down doesn't scale text size anymore. And dragging from middle handles always resizes Text Frame proportionally (as with Image Frame, even WITHOUT Shift key pushed down).

3. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
anssikumpula Jul 23, 2013 9:25 AM (in response to P Spier)Wouldn't want to start with that since I just upgraded from InDesign CS5 to InDesign CC and had to do a lot of work to get all preferences and keyboard shortcuts and panels and extensions and scripts going, then realised there's no way of chaning UI from Finnish to English but uninstall and reinstall (and do it all again).

4. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
anssikumpula Jul 23, 2013 9:29 AM (in response to anssikumpula)Making a Rectangle keeps sides equally long as well. It seems like my Shift key would be pushed down all the time, but it's not since this text isn't all capitals, for example.

BobLevine Jul 23, 2013 9:39 AM (in response to anssikumpula)What are your fitting options set to? Do you have auto fit enabled?

6. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
P Spier Jul 23, 2013 9:39 AM (in response to anssikumpula)Did you copy old prefs, keyboard shortcuts, or similar from CS5 and attempt to use them in CC?

7. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
anssikumpula Jul 23, 2013 9:42 AM (in response to BobLevine)Fitting options won't matter in my case since the frame resizing proportionally is the problem, not the content. But just so you know I don't have auto fit enabled.

8. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
anssikumpula Jul 23, 2013 9:44 AM (in response to P Spier)I didn't. Read forums that there's problems getting settings without problems from InDesign CS5 to CS6 so didn't even bother to worry and try from CS5 to CC.

9. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
P Spier Jul 23, 2013 9:46 AM (in response to anssikumpula)Then back up the prefs files as outlined in the link and give it a shot. if it doesn't solve the problem you can put the old ones back.

anssikumpula Jul 24, 2013 4:34 AM (in response to P Spier)Rebooting my MacBook Pro seemed to work. Never underestimate power of power off. Thanks anyways!

11. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
P Spier Jul 24, 2013 4:37 AM (in response to anssikumpula)A reboot should always be the very first thing you try before you decide you have a problem.

12. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
anssikumpula Jul 24, 2013 4:39 AM (in response to P Spier)I figured I made a mistake with some setting. I was wrong, it was a bug. Learned my lesson, thanks!

13. Re: Resizing with Selection Tool ALWAYS resizes proportionally - how to turn it off?
anssikumpula Aug 12, 2013 7:41 AM (in response to anssikumpula)Just had a problem with zooming (Spacebar didn't bring zooming) and Shift key (keeping it pressed down didn't move element in 90° lines). Closing OPERA NEXT solved the problem. Could be related to this original problem. Just to let everyone know.
