Barcode Scanning

Avatar

Level 1

I am creating a form for my company in our effort to go paperless and to do all forms or paperwork in a tablet. One way we are trying to accomplish this is by scanning barcodes into LiveCycle to populate tables with certain information that has been stored in the barcode using a barcode scanner. My question is whether this is possible or not, and if it is possible, how to do so?

Any information or advice would be welcomed and greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Here is a sample for Barcoded form for LiveCycle server ES2 : http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/samples/ServiceUsageSampleBarcodedFormsRouteOnFormType.htm...

You can use other JDBC operations in workbench to populate the tables.

Hope this helps.

The form that you attached is when a barcode is being generated from the information entered. On my form, there would be no barcodes on the sheet, it would be on an actual item, which would then be scanned into LiveCycle to populate the tables. The barcode will also be generated in a different program.

Also, another function I would like to incorporate is for the barcode scanner to be able to run simultaneously with LiveCycle so that a barcode could be scanned into the form without having to close out of LiveCycle.

Thanks!

Directly scanning and populating the table might not be feasible. We have to integrate it with LiveCycle through BC forms.
