Hello,

so I'm on Windows 8 and i have the latest flash. i've downloaded the latest stand alone player. whenever i open the executable it opens in the taskbar but there is not window showing? im not sure how to fix that. even if i default my shockwave files to open with the stand alone it opens then closes immediately. Can someone please help me? I've removed it completely to do a clean install of an older version and i got the same result.

Hi,

you can download offline installer here :

On Windows 8, Flash Player Active X is managed by Windows Update. So you can install only Flash Plugin (for Firefox, Opera...)

AFAIK the standalone Flash Player ONLY comes with Flash Professional. And even then you MUST right click a flash file (flv, swf) and select "Open With" and the Flash Player standalone app.
