Can I evolve an effect ?

    chachachalala Community Member

      Hi everyone

      I'm a beginner.

I imported a sound in Adobe Audition.

      I applied an EQ Effect.

I would like that at the beginning of the piece, the EQ effect has some values...

And I would like that at the end, this values changed.

So that the effect, during the course of the piece, progressively changes.

      Is this possible ?

I'm french so I don't speak english very well, If I'm not clear please tell me ! : - )

      Thank you for your attention,

      Kind regards

      Damien

If you insert your file in Multitrack view, you can automate any changes you make throughout the track. When you've got a result you are happy with, save the session, mix the result down, and you're done.

Automation is definitely the way to do such an effect but, if you don't have time for the learning curve and just want something quick and easy, just insert the track in question twice into multitrack, once with the initial effect and once with the end effect.  Then use volume envelopes to gradually cross fade the two.

(Figured out as a work round back in the days of Cool Edit 2 before it had automation.)
