Feeling like a total dolt here, but I cannot seem to add Categories.

I added categories in the Resource Manager, included .hts as a type...nothing.

All I see in a snippet under Category is Default.

What am I missing?

I don't think you can add snippet categories to the Resource manager, just the snippets themselves. Try setting up the snippet first and then adding them to the Resource Manager.

Hi there

Yeah, categorizing these little beasties is a bit less than intuitive, eh?

Try this. Right-click any snippet and choose Properties.

Ensure the General tab is in focus.

Click the Categories drop-down to give it focus. All you likely see there is "Default".

Now for the really super intuitive fun bit!

Type your new category name where you see Default and click OK.

That's how you add a Category. One would have thought there would be an icon or something for this, huh?

Now for the simple way to move the remaining snippets into the category.

Select them by holding the CTRL key while you click.

Click and Drag the selected snippets and drop them ON TOP OF the Category name. Here, RoboHelp will trick you into believing you can just drag them and drop them into the general area where the other snippet is. Looks like you are also allowed to drop on top of any other snippet NAME as well. But you can't drop into the extra space inside the category division.

Hope this helps... Rick

Not the little minty kind, the kind you throw to save a sinking swimmer.

Thanks 🙂  🙂  🙂  🙂  🙂
