1. Re: RoboHelp for Word installed from RoboHelp 10 won't work with Word 2010
RoboColum(n) Aug 2, 2013 1:37 AM (in response to pgcalc)Unfortunatelty RH for Word has not changed in years and is more or less a legacy product. It is only included with RoboHelp because there are still some users producing WinHelp and the like. Do you really have to use RH for Word or would the RH HTML application meet your needs better?

2. Re: RoboHelp for Word installed from RoboHelp 10 won't work with Word 2010
pgcalc Aug 2, 2013 5:50 AM (in response to RoboColum(n))So, what I'm hearing is that no version of RH for Word is compatible with Word 2010? Curiously, the modification date for the RoboHelp.exe is 6/23/12, so Adobe must have done something to RH for Word well after Word 2010 was released.
I've used RoboHelp HTML to create help for one of our other products and will definitely do that with the product I'm trying to work on now, but I was hoping to put it off for a while more as we are just starting a project to re-write its code, which would be the perfect time to convert the help format, too. It will be no small task to convert several thousand topics from a few Word files to several thousand separate .htm files. Is there an easy way to do this that I'm not aware of?
Thanks.

RoboColum(n) Aug 2, 2013 6:45 AM (in response to pgcalc)It has been a long time since I've done this but I seem to remember creating a new RH HTML project and importing the HLP file did a very good conversion job.

Peter Grainge Aug 2, 2013 7:40 AM (in response to pgcalc)I should be able to access a RoboHelp for Word machine tomorrow to check it
is still working but I do know it did work with 2010 last time I used it.

5. Re: RoboHelp for Word installed from RoboHelp 10 won't work with Word 2010
Peter Grainge Aug 3, 2013 11:01 AM (in response to Peter Grainge)I have just installed Rh10 for Word on a new machine and initially I got this message.
I wonder if you have followed those instuctions? I changed the setting to Enable All.
The other possibility is what do you have set for the default version? If it is 2007 and that no longer exists on your machine, then Rh will not be able to proceed. The dropdown should show 2010

pgcalc Aug 6, 2013 5:55 AM (in response to Peter Grainge)I tried both your suggestions and, unfortunately, neither made a difference. I continue to get the same error when I try to open my project. Any other ideas?

7. Re: RoboHelp for Word installed from RoboHelp 10 won't work with Word 2010
Peter Grainge Aug 6, 2013 11:40 AM (in response to pgcalc)Is your Normal.dot file on your local machine rather than a network drive?
Support for installation problems is free so it might be worth trying Tech Support. Rh10 for Word definitely does work with Word 2010. I have had it on several machines.

sdryer Apr 8, 2014 1:52 PM (in response to pgcalc)Hello pgcalc - did you ever get RoboHelp 10 for Word to work with Word 2010? We just got brand new Windows 7 machines, RH 10 and Word 2010, and I can't even get an .hpj file to open from RoboHelp.exe. We get the message "RoboHelp has stopped working" (yes, that much I had figured out for myself ).
