1. Re: Could not initialize Photoshop because the file name was not valid.
rog_photo Aug 3, 2013 12:00 PM (in response to rog_photo)Well, that didn't take long. The last thing I installed (and the first thing I uninstalled) was Unified Color's new 32FloatV3_x64 ... and when I did, CS6Ext started up just fine.
To verify, I reinstalled 32FloatV3_x64, and sure enough, CS6Ext crashed as above. Uninstalled 32FloatV3_x64 and I'm back in business.
So, I'll consider this issue closed for now on the Adobe side, as I've reported it on the Unified Color support forum.
(Note: I've only ever reported one issue on this forum, and I believe that one was caused by the previous version of 32Float from UTC - the error message then was something about an "Owl Orphanage" on CS5. UTC eventually fixed the problem, so cudos to them ... I guess, like everyone else in this business, if the program compiles OK, they figure it's ready to ship LOL. I should learn not to install new releases of UTC products till they've had some time to "mature" in the market.)
