Can't D/L and/or use flash player

I have downloaded the most recent flash player three goddamn times and it won't work and isn't showing in my programs.  I have followed ALL the instructions and tried various troubleshooting techniques...still won't work! Please help!

Also, you write that you "downloaded", but did you also install it?

Actually, it never gave me that option after I saw where it said "instal ling", I presumed it had been automatically installed.
