I have a desk top with windows vista sp2, 32-bit.

I logged in computer under administrator user account.

I updated flash player about 6 weeks ago but was having crash issues.

I did install when in the Firefox browser.

I finally took the time to try and fix this issue.

I tried and tried to install the latest flash player but always encountered this error during installation,

" A required file ( C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\flashplayer.xpt5 ) could not be written due to insufficient permissions."

I changed browser to IE and the download and installation was successful.

I am now going back to my default browser and see if this fixed my issue.

I will be back to reply if this was a successful fix in the Firefox browser as well.
