Can't tell if adobe flash is installed

A program I am running says adobe flash is not installed even though I have installed the lastest version.  Adobe Flash is listed under Programs and Features, but is not listed under All Programs.  Is it installed.  If it is what would be the problem.

You won't find it in your Programs folder because it's a "plug-in" for your browser.

And what program would that be?  Does it use the ActiveX or Plugin?  Do you have both installed?
