Issues installing flash player 11 on Mac OS X 10.8

I can download flash player installer but doesn't complete final stage of installing. After I select the update option (the one recommended by adobe, to allow it to complete updates) the final stage doesn't begin loading. Stays at 0%, help???

That means it isn't installed... yet. Run the installer in the DMG.

That is where the problem exists, when I click on the installer, it doesn't complete the final step. It gives the message that 'metafile download failed' then directs me to the troubleshooting page...?

The "offline installer" linked to on the "clean install" page doesn't need to download a metafile. It's 100% intact in the DMG.
