1. Re: Creative Cloud Applet crazy high CPU
David__B Jul 31, 2013 5:33 PM (in response to ladri-bici)Hi Ladri-bici,
Does it stay really high when not interacting with the Creative Cloud for desktop app and all? Some fluctuation is expected when changing tabs and working in the app, but it should drop down to 3-5% when the system is idle.

ladri-bici Jul 31, 2013 5:50 PM (in response to David__B)no, this is when the app is idle and i have the spinner on the homepage. no apps downloading. seems the spinner is stuck.
i just updated bridge, and that status is in my homepage...and i'm not getting the spinner or high CPU status.

smb8282 Aug 1, 2013 9:10 PM (in response to David__B)It doesn't drop to 3-5% when idle. The lowest I've ever seen it go is 7%, which is a lot of power for an app that probably isn't/shouldn't doing anything at all. Obviously this is a huge drain on battery life and makes my fans go higher than they should all the time.
Right now, I'm getting 18% on CEF helper (what is it anyway?) and 12% on Creative Cloud itself (which isn't open or doing anything at all).
Acrobat, PS, AI, ID, Coda, all with lots of documents open, use 0-2% each. Dropbox, which is syncing right now, uses about 10% and normally uses none at all.

Actually, I just figured it out somewhat – whatever the home screen on CC is supposed to do isn't working, and it was burning up 30% cpu to render the spinner icon in the background even with the window closed. Moving to the apps screen drops creative cloud to 0.2% and CEF to 8%, which is still higher than 3-5% (which in itself would be unnaceptable).
To know that people who pirate the adobe software have a much better user experience than all of us who pay a lot to use it makes me feel stupid, I have to say.
FWIW the CS6 version of creative cloud was working really well and I recommended it to other people. I don't see why the new version had to be rushed out without proper testing other than to make money at the expense of delivering a crappy end product to your customers. Congrats on becoming the TWC of software.

ladri-bici Aug 19, 2013 5:24 PM (in response to David__B)Here is an update. I needed to completely erase my drive and installed a fresh version of OS X for other reasons. I then dowloanded Creative Cloud applet and apps.
I still am getting very high idle CPU percentages when idle—55% CPU in total! The CC applet hangs on the home screen, trying to refresh the page.

Any thoughts or ideas on a fix?
Thanks,
