Flash Player Installation

Hi - I'm sure this is fairly common so apologies for sounding completely IT illiterate,

I have flash player installed (11.6.602.180) and I'm trying to update to the latest version. When I run the update I get past the page ask me if I want auto updates and get to the installer box with the % completion indicator. At that point however I get "Metafile Download Failed", and obviously I have no idea why.

Admin rights are enbaled on my PC which can be an issue so I'm wondering whether I need to go the the hassle of uninstalling and re-installing but worried if I do that I may lose use of it all together. I've check that it is enabled.

I'm using Internet Explorer and Windows 7 64 Bit.

Any guidance appreciated.
