1. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Stan Jones Aug 24, 2013 6:50 AM (in response to drm production)Yes, you cannot dynamic link from PR CC to Encore CS6.
See this link, which includes how to install Encore CS6, how to get the library, and a tutorial on workflow with Premiere CC.
http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/kb/encore-cs6-installed-cc.html
Also, see the Encore CC/CS6 FAQ:
http://www.adobe.com/products/encore/faq.edu.html
Export from PR CC as MPEG2-DVD. Import as timeline to Encore CS6.
There are reports that the chapter information from PR CC is not being read by Encore CS6. This is a problem.

2. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Jan Janowski Sep 29, 2013 4:35 AM (in response to Stan Jones)That is one of the main reasons I'm staying with CS6, and not upgrading!
Don't Obsolete something until you have a substitute for it. Disc media may be on the downside of the bell curve, but it's definately not dead!
And I use DL to Encore a couple times a week, and it's great for revisions!!
I would say that at present, I deliver ~20% as files, ~40% as BR, ~30% as DVD,, and ~10% as Flash......
And many projects exports as multiple format types: Primairly BR & DVD with occasional BR,DVD, & Flash.
It would seem that you are trying to alienate users, not direct them!!!
As usual, My $.02

drm production Aug 24, 2013 7:52 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Install EncoreCs6 I can do thank you, but I'm not agree to spend more for a 5heure export mpeg!
Adobe is not going to pay me more time spent? !
By cons I pay my CC range at the same rate as the CS6 when it is less performente!
I do not agree, I do not pay a subscription with updated to regress into my work time!
I hope that this message ascend the developer of the range.
Create ENCC or compatible between CS6 and CC dynamiclink. And announce it to the future purchaser of the CC range. If I had known I would also stay on the range CS6 ...
I would like to know the rational explanation for Fester ence of EncoreCC

You do not pay more to get EncoreCS6 if you have PProCC... Stan gave you the link in reply #1

5. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Jan Janowski Sep 29, 2013 4:36 AM (in response to John T Smith)But the comment was there is no Export (DL) to Encore...
This is Counter-Productive compared to CS6

Just export to mpeg2-dvd and you will still have the entire sequence and your chapter markers.
That is what i have been doing ever since CS5. Dont like DL.

John T Smith Aug 24, 2013 11:27 AM (in response to Ann Bens)This message http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1281964 says that PProCC chapter markers in MPEG2 DVD are not working in EncoreCS6
Only one person... but may be an indication that going from CC to CS6 has a problem

Have you tried it yourself?

11. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
drm production Aug 25, 2013 2:18 AM (in response to Ann Bens)I never said to pay more for Encore CS6! Just pay the same for less functionality.
Sure I can export my project H264 or mpeg2, then import it again Cs6, which retains chapter mark.
But this make me lose 5 hours for 2 hours export movie in HD .... time I earned before by importing my project PrCs6 to EnCc6 with DL, and I can not do with PRCC.
Export Mpeg or H264 my project = 5 hours more for editing station!
Stan Jones, we agree on the fact that when exporting instead of directly export the project is a WASTE OF TIME?

Ann Bens Aug 25, 2013 3:11 AM (in response to drm production)But this make me lose 5 hours for 2 hours export movie in HD
You must be doing something wrong. Is your file bd compatible?
Is that mp4 I am reading (very small print, and if so you are encoding twice)
Your files should read m4v and ac3 (H.264 BluRay) or if you want one file m2t.
All Encore needs to do is render menu and burn, takes but a few minutes depending on the amount of content.

13. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Jan Janowski Aug 25, 2013 6:48 AM (in response to Ann Bens)I think what he's trying to get across is the loss of Encore can be worked around, at the loss of greater time to take to do this, and more steps.
Same thing I was commenting about regarding DL... Revisions are much easier with DL than whithout... Yes, you can do it, with many more steps...
By removing the option of using Encore or DL, you make to workpath to completion more complicated than with CS6.
Why would you want to make something MORE COMPLICATED in order to complete a project? Haven't we all been working for tools to streamline and simplify our workflow, as opposed to making it more complicated, and take longer?
That's where my comment about CC being Counter-Productive came from.... I can't see this being anything Other than Counter-Productive!

14. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
drm production Aug 25, 2013 7:05 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Why is it wrong to import a mp4 video?
Then I make a DVD or BD made from this file.In any case I am forced to import a video encoded premiere pro. What I did not do before thanks to DL ....
Do you think I should import my video to m4v format is that it?

16. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
drm production Aug 25, 2013 6:56 AM (in response to drm production)And do not forget the advantage of DL was able to modify the project and allow the real-time modification in Encore.
This means that today, in the event of changes, I would require to encode all!

17. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Biggles Lamb Aug 25, 2013 7:12 AM (in response to drm production)So why bother with CC at all?
It has been known from the outset that Encore would no longer be supported.
All anyone had to do was some research into what they get with the CC version of Premiere to find that Encore was history
That way you could have saved yourself all the hastle by using an earlier version whenever discs are required
Do not expect Adobe to introduce the dynamic link

lightprism Sep 26, 2013 8:25 AM (in response to Stan Jones)These install instructions USED to work to gain access to Encore 6, but they no longer work. When you click on the "Download" tab, you are then asked to select a program to use to install. When you select the Creative Cloud app manager, the app does nothing.
Just bring back Encore - it works and is still very much used

JSS1138 Sep 26, 2013 10:26 AM (in response to Jan Janowski)Why would you want to make something MORE COMPLICATED in order to complete a project?
Because skipping Dynamic Link can provide more control and better quality. DL to Encore is a 'big button' solution provided for those who don't really know what they're doing, and is best avoided even when it is available. Better to learn what you're doing.
-
20. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
JSS1138 Sep 26, 2013 10:27 AM (in response to drm production)And do not forget the advantage of DL was able to modify the project and allow the real-time modification in Encore.
That's a negligible advantage. Those changes only show up if you haven't yet transcoded in Encore. A good editor won't be going into Encore in the first place until he's done editing. And once the video is transcoded in Encore, then changes made in PP will require a retranscode anyway, so it's a wash.

JSS1138 Sep 26, 2013 10:29 AM (in response to Biggles Lamb)So why bother with CC at all?

22. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Jan Janowski Sep 26, 2013 11:30 AM (in response to JSS1138)I disagree with you greatly. DL from PPRO to Encore has saved many hours of work during revisions.
At times revisions are a client thing....The good editor WILL be going back and forth between PPRO and Encore if the Client deems it...
Have you ever told a client that you can't do that?
-
23. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
JSS1138 Sep 26, 2013 3:39 PM (in response to Jan Janowski)Oh, I do revisions all the time. But once the DVD or Blu-ray is made, meaning the video has been transcoded, then any changes you make in PP will require a retranscode of the entire sequence in Encore. It saves you no time at all over exporting assets out of PP. The only scenario where it would save time is if the client was viewing the untranscoded sequence in Encore while sitting next to you, and what would be the purpose of that? You can just show them the sequence right in PP.

24. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Jan Janowski Sep 29, 2013 4:50 AM (in response to JSS1138)Perfect example of what I'm talking about. I finished a BR&DVD for a client, of their house... I did a slideshow in PPRO and one of the pics was rotated 90 degrees... This was a still shot of square ceramic tile in their bathroom..... This resided deep in PPRO edit. Got past Client and me.
Thank goodness for DL to Encore... Did I have to Re-Transcode? Yeah, So What? The benifits and time savings of DL to Encore Far exceeds the time to re-transcode....
If this had happened in CC..... Then what? Fumble around for long while!
Am I vocal about this? YES! You're trying to slow my workflow down, and I won't stand for it!
As much as I hate rental software, The loss of DL to Encore--(The LOSS of Encore) is one of the Dumbest Mistakes I've ever seen.... And that was the deciding factor for me to Not Upgrade to CC.

25. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
JSS1138 Sep 29, 2013 10:07 AM (in response to Jan Janowski)Did I have to Re-Transcode? Yeah, So What? The benifits and time savings of DL to Encore Far exceeds the time to re-transcode....
What I'm saying is that if you need to retranscode, there is no benefit for Dynamic Link. It takes the same amount of time to retranscode in Encore as it would to reexport out of PP.
-
26. Re: Premiere ProCC and Encore Cs6 not compatible? (dynamiclink)
Jan Janowski Sep 29, 2013 10:43 AM (in response to JSS1138)The Benifits of DL from PPRO to Encore far overshadow your comment that there is no benifit....
If that is the case, why doesn't Adobe remove all other Dynamic Links as well? That would make about as much sense....
DL is a very important part of the CS series, and probably was a profit area for Adobe as folks upgraded to PP or Master to take advantage of this....
Now you are trying to tell me it is un-necessary.... Maybe in your mind it is.... Not from this location, or this workflow!
Have a Nice Day!

[r]Evolution Sep 30, 2013 5:33 PM (in response to Jan Janowski)DL from Pr to En was awesome!!!
Same as it is Pr to Ae to Au to Ps to...
If I had to go back in and make a change I could DL and walk away while En encoded, authored, and burned the disc. Without DL, I have to wait on the export from Pr before being able to load the file into En.
Oh yeah... don't miscalculate your bitrate when exporting from Pr. When we could DL from Pr to En, you could set En to 'Auto' and it would adjust the bitrate to fit.
Once again, DL from Pr to En was awesome!!!
