Flash player not working with windows 8

when i try to watch a video on my windows 8 computer, it says that i need to get the latest version, but when i go to the intall adobe flash player website it says i already have it on my computer. i am on my desktop...not sure what else to do....i have went through all the troubleshooting suggestions on the adobe support website but still nothing will help! so agervating!
