This same thing is happening to me this morning, after successfully using the index yesterday. Can you help??

Try having just one index work not in a topic.

Hello DebLipp -

Happened to us some time ago, too. I traced the root cause to a corrupt ".hhk" file (it holds index data; ours is over 50,000 lines long). I found a corruption where a CLOSE statement was trashed. I manually fixed that and the index was restored.

It should look something like this:

<html>
<!-- Sitemap 1.0 -->
<object type="text/site properties">
<param name="SiteType" value="index">
</object>

<ul>
<li><object type="text/sitemap">
<param name="Name" value="{name}">
<param name="Name" value="{name}">
<param name="Local" value="{location\name.htm}">
</object>
<li><object type="text/sitemap">
<param name="Name" value="{name}">
<param name="Name" value="{name}">
<param name="Local" value="{location\name.htm}">
<param name="Name" value="{name}">
<param name="Local" value="{location\name.htm}">
</object>
<ul>
<li><object type="text/sitemap">
<param name="Name" value="{name}">
<param name="Name" value="{name}">
<param name="Local" value="{location\name.htm}">
</object>
</ul>

>>>>>>>>>>>> Lather, rinse, repeat <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

</ul>
</html>

Take a look at your hhk file as it may be at fault.

Regards,
GEWB

Thanks, but the hhk looks healthy.

Somehow, moving the entire project to a new folder got me up and running.

Sorry, I wrote that stone cold sober. Now I've been out for a lovely meal and knocked back some wine. So , what I meant to say was

Try having just one index worD not in a topic.

We had a post a while back where someone had an index problem that was fixed with that trick.

Glad you got the show on the road.
