Air file is damaged

Hi there

For the last 2 days I've been trying to install an application but keep getting the following error message:

"Sorry, an error has occured. The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author."

I've searched this forum and on Google for a solution, but nothing has worked so far.

I`ve tried the following (instructions from developer`s support) more times than I`d care to think about:

1. First uninstall Kudani if you have an existing install
2. Make sure the Kudani application folder does not exist in c:\Program Files or c:\Program Files (x86)
3. Check that your computer's system clock is correct. Correct the date and time if it not current.
4. Make sure you have the latest version of the Adobe AIR runtime installed. You can download it from http://get.adobe.com/air
5. Now try installing Kudani

Every time, I made sure I removed all traces. I even tried uninstalling/reinstalling Air, but no luck.

Yes I have the same issue with the Kudani and other programs as well. Has any one got a solution yet.

I'm sorry I missed this post originally. Has anyone been able to reproduce this consistently? Could you give me steps so I can do it on my system? What apps are causing this other than Kundani?

I managed to solve the problem - I thought - by unzipping and installing from my desktop instead of the folder that was set as the default for the download.

It did work, but I found later that I was unable to install any updates.

I also found that there were several other applications that I could not update.

And then a thought crossed my mind: maybe my security software (macafee) was getting in the way.

So I disabled both the firewall and real time scanning, tried to update again, and everything worked.

Since then, I've been able to update everything whenever an update is available, just by disabling the firewall and real time scanning (not sure if disabling both is necessary but since it worked, I'm sticking with it).

Same .AIR file installs on OSX but doesn't on windows.

I have no antivirus, clock is correct, install from HD root.

Mystery...
