use custom CRM fields in Marketing emails ?

Hi I want to include custom fields in email marketing campaigns

Tried finding a solution and saw a post from 2011 that talked about it not being possible - is it now ?

If not is it coming in the development schedule

You can only put in the modules like the blog module to render.
You have never been able to render custom CRM fields on a website without being logged in. An email not being logged in you cant use them.
