1. Re: J and K keys
Todd_Kopriva Sep 6, 2013 7:15 AM (in response to marq5.1)These shortcuts do exactly what is described in After Effects Help, here:
"Go to previous or next visible item in time ruler (keyframe, layer marker, work area beginning or end)
note: Also goes to beginning, end, or base frame of Roto Brush span if viewing Roto Brush in Layer panel."
You can read about Roto Brush spans here:

2. Re: J and K keys
marq5.1 Sep 14, 2013 5:56 AM (in response to Todd_Kopriva)Hi todd,
thanks for your response, and the the roto brush link. The J and K shortcuts do work in a fresh comp. I discovered this shortly after posting, sorry I should have updated my inquirey. However the J,K shortcut is not working on a more complex comp started by a colleague and being updated by myself. There doesn't "appear" to be any roto brushing used in the comp, but the J,K buttons are jumping from one end of the work area to the other with no stops in between.
Do you know of a trick to finding where the roto brushing has been applied in a comp in order to shut it off. Or could there be another reason for the J and K going to the extremes of the work area? This information doesn't seem to be covered in the roto brush link you suggested (but I have to admit that I didn't read it in its entirety, I'm not interested in using the brush, just in turning it off)
Thanks for your support.
