Not working after download

I am trying to figure out why when I install flash player, it says that it has successfully downloaded, but when I try to go back to the website that needs flash player, it says I dont have it.  I went to adobes site and it also says I dont have it.  I search on my computer as well, and nothing comes up. I have also gone to my browsers tools, and adobe flash is not on the list at all.

  I need to know why this is.. can someone please help me?

Downloading it is one thing. Installing is another.
What is your operating system?

What browser do you use?

64 bit operating system.. internet explorer

Download the Adobe Flash Player installer directly by right clicking the following link and selecting "Save target as".

Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

Save it to your downloads folder or your desktop (your choice, but save it where you can find it).

Reboot your system.

BEFORE opening anything else, locate the downloaded installer and run it.

To make sure it's enabled and can run with ActiveX in Internet Explorer
