repeated requests to install

Every time I go to use a website that requires Flash Player (like Canadian TV's iPlayer) I get a message that I have to "install Flash Player" which I do AGAIN and everything is fine until I come back to the site later, to watch something else.  I have "installed" the programme TEN TIMES just this week.

I am using Safari (99% of the time)  or Firefox and the same thing happens in both.  I am on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.8.4

I haven't checked on my desktop to see it the same thing is happening there.

That will get rid of old plugins and update fully.
