Download screen says I have Flash Player when I don't.

I uninstalled Flash Player on my computer. (Runs on Windows Vista) I restarted. I visited the Adobe website and followed the steps to download Flash Player. Every single time it tells me the download failed because I already have a newer version of Flash Player on my computer. I don't. I checked. Can anyone tell me what to do?
