Dreamweaver CC won't launch - Mac OS 10.8.5 - No Crash Logs Created

Dreamweaver CC won't launch at all on my machine anymore.  All the other Adobe CC applications work just fine.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled all my CC applications and done it again for good measure.  I've uninstalled all my fonts and reinstalled the normal Mountain Lion fonts and the fonts installed with the Adobe CC apps.

Creative Cloud desktop is installed. It has update Dreamweaver to version 13.0.0.6391.  I'm aware that there is a version 13.1 out there, but Creative Cloud tells me I'm up-to-date and I have no more requests.

When launching Dreamweaver, It bounces in my dock for a brief second, then disappears.  No crash log is created. The Console app shows the following entry after a number of attempts to launch Dreamweaver:

Didn't work.  I had to quit Creative Cloud in order to get the CEPServiceManager process to quit.  The Console app is shows the same info as I posted earlier whenever I try and launch Dreamweaver.

No to both those questions.  I did update Mac OS 10.8.5 using the combo update.  I've been using DW CC just fine since it became available.  I did remove all traces of CS 6 software before upgrading to CC.

Please go to ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe and Rename Dreamweaver CC to Dreamweaver CC_Old and then try to launch Dreamweaver.

If still not work then please create a new user account on your MAC OS and try to launch dreamweaver and let us know in case you still face any issue.

Niether of those worked either.  Renaming the Dreamweaver CC folder nor deleting it from the ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe worked. The new user account had the same problem and the same logs in the Console.

Bingo!  That was it.  I recently had to install Java 7 to order an custom portfolio book.  Once I was finished with the order, I removed Java 7 from my computer.  FYI, rather that follow your link to Oracle's Java page.  I went straight to Apple's download site and installed the latest version they make available.  Here's the page - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572

Hi,

I too am having a similar issue, however when i create a new user account it works. What steps can i do to look at resolving the issue? I've renamed the dreamweaver cc file under ~/library/ and this makes no difference.

Whats next?

Thanks,

Josh

@masdesign : MAke sure you install Java from the OS prompt that comes up when you first launch DW .

If you are on 10.9 , I strongly suggest that you follow this thread at http://forums.adobe.com/message/5793240#5793240

Hi @vharis,

I've tried those steps listed in the post.

Every time i try and open it the icon bounces twice as if it wants to load, then it just goes. No error, no nothing. Uninstalling java and re-installing from the dreamweaver prompt didnt help, nor did running the prompts to re-enable Java 6.

It's a brand new macbook Pro i'm running with OSX 10.9. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i really would like to get this running ASAP. As i said, the secondary user account works fine, but migrating all my data would be a nightmare.

Thanks,

Josh

I just faced the same situation and solved it that way:

- find this folder in the finder:

Macintosh HD/ User / Library / Application Support / Macromedia / Dreamweaver /Configuration

- rename the "Configuration" folder to "ConfigurationOld"

It worked for me.... I hope it'll help you

I have the same problem.

DW CC 20014 won't launch from my main user account but will from a guest account. Have installed latest Java. Tried the Config file rename.

I did notice that there are 2 Application folders and 2 Library folders. One for the Mac overall, and one for my user acct. All the apps are in the main overall folder. The Application support files are in the overall Mac Library... but not in the user library. I wondered if that was why DW won't launch inside my user account. Tried copying the config folder into the matching folder in my user library to no avail.

Can you help please?

On my mac with yosemite there was a permissions problem that was stopping DW and other CC apps from launching
In Terminal I typed cd /Users/yourusername/Library/Application support

Then I typed ls -la Adobe/ to see the permissions of the contents of the Adobe folder

In the folder /Users/yourusername/Library/Application Suppport/Adobe some of the sub-folders had the owner as root:wheel and not yourusername:staff

I then typed chown -R yourusername:staff Adobe/

This makes yourusername:staff the owner of the sub-folders

Now all of the CC software launches.

I had the problem that DW CC worked in a test account on my machine by would not launch on my main account. The icon would bounce a couple of times then disappear.

I spent an hour or so with Adobe on the phone trying to figure this out. When I was able to get it working on a test account, they said it was my fault so could offer no more help. Thanks for wasting my time, Adobe.

Fortunately, jeromelove's solution worked! It was a permissions problem. One edit -- I had to do a sudo to change the permissions.

I ran into this problem today. I am running Mac OS X 10.8.5, and had not used Dreamweaver CS 5 in some weeks.

When I tried to launch DW, it would not even bounce in the dock. Trying to launch "manually" with an "open" command in "terminal", I got this:

witsend:Adobe Dreamweaver CS5 donlee$ open Adobe\ Dreamweaver\ CS5.app

2015-04-14 11:03:35.064 open[8375:707] JLRequestRuntimeInstall: CFMessagePortSendRequest: error -1

LSOpenURLsWithRole() failed with error -10658 for the file /Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5/Adobe Dreamweaver CS5.app.

With some research, I found that this was related to Java, so I installed Oracle's Java, with no improvement. (http://www.java.com/en/download/mac_download.jsp?locale=en)

I then found a link to re-load Apple's Java (v6). The link is here: "https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572?locale=en_US".

When I downloaded Apple's Java, Dreamweaver started working again.
