Warunicorn Jun 15, 2013 2:12 PM (in response to piixy)Was this when trying to just open the project into PS Touch's workspace? Have you tried exporting the project in a format like PSDX or PSD?

joerg eberhardt Jun 17, 2013 12:50 AM (in response to piixy)Hi Piixy,
You may want to send me you project and I will check and try to repair it for you.
You can use iExplorer (http://www.macroplant.com/iexplorer/ ) and download your projects from the iPad to your computer:
The path to your projects is:
PS Touch/Library/Application Support/com.adobe.pstouch.ipad/Local Store/sync/files
Thanks you!

4. Re: This is not a valid photoshop touch project
joescoe Jun 17, 2013 10:42 AM (in response to joerg eberhardt)I just experienced the same message from project gallery page ("Cannot Open Project - This is not a valid Photoshop Touch project."). I had just finished over 3 hours on a PS Touch iPad project (3 photo layers, approx. 502 x 604 px). I clicked the arrow to return to project gallery, clicked SAVE project. On gallery page, the project thumbnail appears as a gray octagon (stop sign) with black X in center, and when I click it to re-open, I get the message that it's not a valid PS Touch project.
I tried to save it to camera roll, both as jpg and jpg. The "Publishing..." box appears and appears to be exporting, but it never completes or goes away. (I left it running for approx. 20 minutes.)
I duplicated the project and tried to open the duplicate, but get the message "Error loading File - Error reading file."
The file appears in my Creative Cloud, but its size is 0b. Thumbnail is a gray page icon.
I started a new project by opening the same photo I'd started with before. I did nothing to it (no new layers, no manipulation of any kind). Then I clicked back to the gallery page, clicked "Save project," and same thing... the project thumbnail is gray stop sign with black X, won't open ("not a valid PS Touch project").
I'm assuming all my work on the first project is simply gone. Any possibility of retrieving it?

6. Re: This is not a valid photoshop touch project
stevobailey Sep 24, 2013 5:25 AM (in response to joerg eberhardt)I'm having the same problem, made all the more frustrating that Adobe seems to have hidden the Photoshop 5 plugin which would (hopefully) allow me to fix the file myself - the instructions on how to install it refer to a link which no longer exists:
Sign-in to Creative Cloud using your Adobe ID and click download under "Touch App Plugins" to start the download and install process.
"Touch App Plugins" does not appear and I've scoured the whole of the creative cloud website, and googled every possible search term, and cannot find this plugin, so I'd be most grateful if anybody has a direct link.
Joerg - I'd be grateful if you could have a go at fixing mine: http://adobe.ly/18mE72q
Thanks. Steve

9. Re: This is not a valid photoshop touch project
joerg eberhardt Oct 23, 2013 1:45 AM (in response to laneyoung)Unfortunately both the files are beyond repair!
All layers are blank except the lowest one.
Did you had a (memory related) crash on saving?
Thanks!

rocdok Aug 24, 2014 7:28 PM (in response to joerg eberhardt)Been using this program since the beginning and suddenly I am getting the dreaded black x upon saving. I thought it was to do with the source of the pic but I tried many and I cannot save anything.....??. IS there an explanation yet since the above OP?
