Should I buy Adobe and Macromedia Captivate?

I am looking to use Capitivate as a teaching aid for software. Please can I have some advice about the difference between Adobe and Macormedia Captivate. Which is the best to buy?

There is no Macromedia Captivate. Captivate was a Macromedia product . . .

Adobe bought Macromedia (the whole company) after Captivate version 1 was released, then created version 2 branded for Adobe. So the long and short of it is that if you have version 1, you have Macromedia Captivate, and if you have version 2, you have Adobe Captivate.
