1. Re: Menus with Animated Buttons Taking Forever to Render
JSS1138 Sep 26, 2013 11:06 AM (in response to S Kendall)I think the only thing which may help here is a faster CPU.

2. Re: Menus with Animated Buttons Taking Forever to Render
S Kendall Sep 26, 2013 11:16 AM (in response to JSS1138)I would be inclined to agree, Jim, except that I started a new project with the same basic specs (1920x1080) that just had 2 30-second motion menus (with the same motion menu background as the other project) and when I render it with animated video thumbnails, each menu only takes around 30 minutes to render.
Could it have anything to do with the number of chapter markers and poster frames in my main video timeline? I noticed that the more poster frames I created, the longer it took for the video to refresh when moving around on the timline.
Thanks.

3. Re: Menus with Animated Buttons Taking Forever to Render
S Kendall Sep 27, 2013 9:26 AM (in response to JSS1138)Something else I noticed is that when I'm rendering a project out of Premiere Pro using the Media Encoder, all of my CPU cores are at 100% constantly.
But when I'm rendering the motion menus in Encore, the CPU cores are only around 10-30% and a couple of them are at 0% part of the time.
Does Encore just not take advantage of all of the CPU cores? Is there a way to change this?
Thanks.

Stan Jones Sep 27, 2013 10:19 AM (in response to S Kendall)Encore CS6 is 64 bit, but I don't think it is multi CPU - its transcoding engine is the old sonic. You can set Encore to use AME for transcoding, but that is only when using "Transcode Now" (not duruing build), and would not apply to menus.

5. Re: Menus with Animated Buttons Taking Forever to Render
S Kendall Sep 28, 2013 10:31 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Thanks for the reply, Stan. I tried again yesterday and a project with just two motion menus (with animated buttons) only took about 10 minutes per menu to render out.
I tried completely recreating the project with 7 motion menus with animated buttons and seeing if maybe something had just become glitched in the original project, but again those menus were taking 3-4 hours each to render.
When I get some time, I'm going to come back to this project and try a few experiments, such as not adding poster frames to the chapters, reducing the number of chapters, etc. and see if anything makes a difference in the render time.
Thanks.

Stan Jones Sep 28, 2013 12:28 PM (in response to S Kendall)Let us know.
Adding a poster frame should not make any difference. Animating the thumbnails does, but your times seem long.
