how to get flash player to download and work

I've downloaded flashplayer for my mac 10.5.8 and it doesn't want to install ??????

Flash Player 10.3 in the last version that will work with 10.5. Unfortunately, it's from a bygone era (the days of PPC Macs), being it was the LAST Universal Binary OS Mac released, and you'll need Flash Player 11 for most things today.

If your Mac is Intel based, you can upgrade to OS 10.6.8 for $19.99 through Apple, but you'll NEED to do that to upgrade Flash Player (and a lot of other software as well).
