Can't Install

I have carefully followed all of the directions for installing the latest Flash Player on my new MacBook Pro.  After initialization the process stops.  I try to follow the "Need Help?" instructions.  I can find the Flash Player listed among my files, but when I click on the name nothing happens.

Why does the installation stop after initialization?  Why does the file not appear as depicted in "Need Help?"?
