Table Properties won't take my changes

I often find RH's table feature a bit... uncooperative. Today, when I specify the cell border style, it doesn't reject my input, but when I close and open the input box, my specs are gone. If anyone knows what causes this, I'd like to hear it.

I found the obstacle. But I wish the table facility would tell me when it's going to ignore my entries, and maybe why.

You might want to post what "the obstacle" was, and how you resolved it (to help other writers who might experience the same issue). That would be a more meaningful "Answer," don't you think?
