How to empty my Source monitor?

Hello, I'm working with a lot of photos and use the project window as a way to organise a story board and display my photos in the source monitor to check them as I go. Sometimes it will not display the photo anymore and stays on the last display. Then I realised that if I look for the Source monitor under the the header "Window" (from the main headers at the top of my work space it will list all the photos I opened in it! with the current ticked on. So I assumed that I need to empty it because it's full... I put the question in different way to the community in the search field but it did not return anything so I hope someone here will have the answer for me.  I guess I could use the other program for the story board ('forgot what it's called!) but I try to stick with what I know! Oh i got it "Bridge" But I still like to know. Thank you for any contribution :)
