WebHelp server distribution

Hello,

Our company currently uses Robohelp 6. There is an interest in having the ability to publish content to and distribute from a server in-house (to allow for behind-the-scenes updating). Does Robohelp 6 allow this, or is the Pro upgrade required? Does the basic V6 release offer any ability to store and update content on a server?

Thanks.

The Pro version allows extra reporting but is not needed to publish webhelp in the format most people use.

And just what the heck is "behind-the-scenes updating"? Your IT peeps better rethink that scenario. To avoid massive amounts of pain, follow the RoboHelp tried-and-true process:

1. Work the project on a local machine (no network/shared drives!).
2. Generate output to local machine (all files get replaced).
3. Publish output to server (only changed files get replaced).

And as Peter alluded to, the Pro version is only needed if you want advanced search and user tracking information.

Good luck,
Leon
