A DRM book is associated with a particular ID, and can only be read on devices registered to that ID.  It is neither possible to read it on a device registered with a different ID, nor to transfer the book to be associated with different ID.  That is why the ID field is greyed out and cannot be changed.

I'm not sure exactly how it works when books using the Adobe DRM mechanism are associated with vendor IDs rather than with generic Adobe IDs; but I am sure that the same restriction still applies that a copy of a book is permamently associated with just one ID.

So I am afraid if you can't find the original ID and register yourself with that ID, you won't be able to read the book.
