general install error dozens of times for Flash 11 on my mac despite trying a few fixes. can someone help?

You deleted the "mach_kernel" file that was rendered visible after the 10.8.5 update. Your troubles are just beginning.

If you have a "Time Machine", see http://forums.adobe.com/message/5772637#5772637  for instructions to restore the mach_kernel file.

If you DON'T have a Time Machine, you need to either:
Reinstall your OS

or

Attempt to upgrade to OS 10.9 (through the App Store - it's FREE)
