1. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Stan Jones Oct 20, 2013 6:09 AM (in response to Michelmnr)You can't put 2 true "projects" on one disk. How would the player know which one to open? It looks for the BD folder structure.
But use a top menu with 2 options: project 1 and project 2. Then just link the project 1 main menu to that button.

2. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Michelmnr Oct 20, 2013 6:40 PM (in response to Stan Jones)I'm not sure I understand this Stan. In Encore I can't see the "project" option under "import". So if I make another project with my hd clips I wonder how i can add that project to the first one in order to link it.
I was just worried that if I add my hd (h .264)video clips to my non hd timeline (including animated stills and standard video clips from the same cameras) I might get in trouble.
(Any suggestions why encore would not recognise my BD writer?)
Thank you for your help MM

3. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Stan Jones Oct 20, 2013 8:50 PM (in response to Michelmnr)Ha, ha! Yes, there is no import option. You would have to create the 2 projects in one. In trying to find a workaround, I was suggesting making one project that would be divided into two sections.
if I add my hd (h .264)video clips to my non hd timeline
You keep separate timelines. You can connect them with playlists.

5. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Michelmnr Oct 28, 2013 4:26 AM (in response to Michelmnr)My try does not seem so lucky
I added to my earlier succesful BR project 2 more time lines. On one I had video clips from several still cameras (2 panasonic and one Nikon) and on the other timeline, my .mts clips from my hd Everio video cam.
The Encore projects was previewing well and did not return any error (pre building).
I output the encoding to a folder and followed the imgburn well detailled instruction to burn to a folder, i found them on the net and they were very well explained and my burning went exactly through the same steps explained.
so the procedure progressed over a few hours (it showed the size of 25.5 GB) When it was complete the disk was ejected with a message that it could not be shut again and this happens with slim external drives or Laptops.
I'm not sure what is going on now, but when I put the disk in my entertainment player It asked me If I want copy or format the disk and it won't play.
As this is the second time it happens I put it back in my BR writer, and like the first time It's going threw (I think), a "miscompares" check.
Now it's through 40% and not showing any error, but i seem to remember that I clicked "Yes" to ignore "miscompare"
So I don't really know what is going on, this is almost like 15 hours the process has been on (including the retry).
The BD-RE (50gb DL) is the same colour as the new one I have not idea if anything is written on it.
My first successful project was only animated stills with sound track added to it and burnt onto a rewritable 25 gb BR.
Well any help will be welcome:)

Stan Jones Oct 28, 2013 7:28 AM (in response to Michelmnr)I output the encoding to a folder and followed the imgburn well detailled instruction to burn to a folder,
That sounds like you burned a data disk with folder and files on it rather than a Bluray disk. I'll try to look later, but just back in town and may not catch up.

7. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Michelmnr Oct 28, 2013 8:02 PM (in response to Stan Jones)not according to that tutorial (http://www.aimersoft.com/how-to-burn/burn-bluray-with-imgburn.html) I followed its steps and everything happened as it it described. until the disk was ejected. Then when I put it back in it went to the "miscompare / verification)
What beats me is after all this the disk seems still blanc when I open the P'ty it shows 45 something GB free and sometimes I see "ready to write files.
If I put it in my entertainment BR player I'm asked if I want to FORMAT or COPY!
I would have thought imgburn would have told me that my disk was not blanc when I used it the second time around.
But I read in the imgburn forum a similar situation (from 2008)
There were issues about using a BR burner USB, also to use a low speed (2X) ... Yet I had no such problem with my rewrite 25gb burning an image.
Thanks for helping and when you're ready too

8. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Stan Jones Oct 28, 2013 9:31 PM (in response to Michelmnr)Your method in imgburn was correct.
What do you see at the root of the disk when you look at it in Windows Explorer?
You should see two folders: BDMV and CERTIFICATE.
And to confirm; in Encore you set your project type to BD, in the build panel, chose BD as the format, output as BD folder, and set the size to 50Gg dual layer?

9. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Michelmnr Oct 29, 2013 6:40 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Thanks again Stan, I think you may have hit the nail on the head. I don't remember setting Encore output to 50 gb DL and this could explain why my single layer re write project was succesful and not this one. I certainly hope so.
imgburn asked me for a log of my burning I've just done one, but I think I need to redo my Encore project with thos e setting to see if this was the problem before I do anything else.
Best regard MM

10. Re: Is it possible to write 2 different project on one blu ray disc?
Michelmnr Nov 5, 2013 4:50 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Hello again
Yes I had the right things in my folder.
However on Sunday I bought a new internal writer (pioner) And I just put my folder through imgburn, it took only a little more than one hour (actually 1 1/2 with veryfication) No write retry and no errors. and the disc is ok (only my menu plays up a little but it could be my remote)
So i may have to conclude it was my USB Samsung that I ran on usb2.0 that may have been the problem. I hope the shop will be able to take it back or exchange it. This was $au 140 and the internal $100!
Well one live and sometimes learn!
Thank again though for your time.
