Adobe Exchange Manager stalls after installing update

    her-webness Community Member

http://forums.adobe.com/message/5730540#5730540  I reference this post because my situation is similar.  I wanted to install an extension to DW and I was prompted to update the Exchange Manager, which I did.  The message I got was that the Exchange Manager update was successfully installed, But when I click on the exchange manager in DW, or when I click on it from Windows Explorer, the message comes up "loading extensions" along with a progress bar that gets to the 75% mark and then just hangs.  The only way to get out of it is with the Task Manager.

I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop with windows 7 professional running CS6.

I feel extremely frustated.  I've never had things totally non-functional in my previous creative suites.  This hangup makes it impossible to download any extensions for Adobe products.  In order to download the free trial of the extension I wanted, I had to download Windows Expression Web 4 and run the Expression Web version of the extension, and bring the resulting feature into DW.  Unfortunately, Expression Web and DW don't do things exactly the same way, so I'm not getting the benefit of being able to work with the extension in DW.

Given how much Creative Suite costs, this should not be happening.  I'm not that technically savvy, so I need help with this.

          Hi,

I'm sorry for what you experienced. Here are some steps to generate log files:

(1)create a file named  "ExManLog.YES"  in the following location.

            win:C:\Program File (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Extension Manager CS6

            mac:/Applications/Adobe Extension Manager CS6/Adobe Extension Manager CS6.app/Contents/MacOS

          (2)launch extension manager cs6

(3)you can find the log files in the following location:

          win:"C:\Users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6\"

          mac:"Users/<UserName>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Extension Manager CS6/"

(4)send the log files to exman.beijing@gmail.com

I also want you to send me the db files:

          (1)ExMan.db: "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6\Configuration\DB"(win)

          (2)ExManUser.db:"C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Extension Manager CS6\Configuration\DB\"(win)

          Thanks,

          Yuan

Thanks for responding to my post.

As you instructed, I created the ExmanLog.Yes file and ran the Extension Manager.  It proceeded as I described in my first post.  I let it run about 5 minutes and then ended it with the Task Manager.

Then I went to look in the users/appdata/Adobe/Adobe Extension Manager CS6 folder and there was no file there.

            What to do next?
