I have Java version 7 update 45 (build 1.7.0_45-b18).

Kaspersky Security informed me there is a critical vulnerability in the existing version of Adobe Flash Player.  It suggested the following:

For Adobe AIR versions 3.8.0.870 and earlier for Windows and Android:

Update to version 3.8.0.1430

I tried this and it said to RUN the download when asked.  I did this and after a few steps it showed me the Adobe directory on my drive and didn't tell me what to do next.

Does anybody know please ?

(And why am I having to do this instead of being put through to customer suppoort ? )

Adobe software does not require Java.

I think Kaspersky is thoroughly confused; it tells you about a security flaw in Flash Player then suggests to update Adobe AIR instead.  And an update to an old version!

The latest Flash Player version is 11.9.900.117; get it from

Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)

Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)

The latest AIR version is 3.9.0.1030; get it from

http://get.adobe.com/air/

...that is if you actually use Adobe AIR; there is no need to install it if you don't have any AIR applications.
