2. Re: Keyframed Masks Broken?
MonkeyEatsMonkey Nov 3, 2013 10:40 AM (in response to Manuel LP)Yes. Working in Direct Link mode here.
Fortunately, I just found that I can still dynamic link my Premiere sequence to After Effects and maintain all of my grading work from Speedgrade! So it looks like the workaround for now is to do any keyframed secondary grading in After Effects.

R Neil Haugen Nov 14, 2013 1:31 PM (in response to Dennis Weinmann)Dennis,
This would be a huge lift for so many of us ... one of the swiftest features in grading is naturally being able to do movable secondaries in moving pictures, right? And though we can do primaries in Sg and go back to P-Pro, and THEN pull it into Ae for animated masks/secondaries ... yea, when this is fixed it will be a massive change.
And ... keeping on that broken record of mine ... it would also be massive to have quick-masks available in Sg for 'scope' work when isolating/modifying those secondary grades ... and graticules on the vectorscope like you have on every other scope ... and like ALL other editing/grading programs have for vectorscopes ... sigh.

R Neil Haugen Nov 15, 2013 10:36 AM (in response to Dennis Weinmann)Dennis,
Thank you for the response. It does mean a great deal to actually get an acknowledging comment back, even when there's no way you can give any kind of expected fix time. Just ... to know "we" have been heard.
And yea, my broken record whine on the vectorscope graticules ... you've got very good "grats" on all the other scopes, the histogram and waveform and parade. So ... my four-scope screen always looks bizarre with the naked vectorscope ...
And again, pass on to your bosses and coders that the new functions they built are in a wondrous direction ... and very much appreciated even through the whining!

ironmountainfilms Jan 14, 2014 2:29 AM (in response to Igelkott Film)Great. This is still broken. Seems like just about everything in this suite is "almost" there. Pure frustration. Masks appear and disappear at their whim. Impossible.

Caterpillar Films Apr 3, 2014 11:11 AM (in response to MonkeyEatsMonkey)I do know that Speedgrade CC currently has a bug where masks do not operate properly when dealing with scaled footage in Premiere. It doesn't matter whether you're using EDL workflow or Direct Link. I succesfully reproduced this bug during a screen sharing session with Adobe tech support. Here are some forum posts explaining more:

This problem did not exist within CS6.

MonkeyEatsMonkey Apr 3, 2014 11:44 AM (in response to PJ Community Innovations)I just tried keyframing a mask on a Direct Linked project, and it seemed to work fine. I'm guessing they fixed this in the last update.
