1. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
JSS1138 Nov 3, 2013 12:13 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)DNG stills are not supported. CinemaDNG is only supported from the Blackmagic cameras.

2. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 3, 2013 12:15 PM (in response to JSS1138)Right that's what I'm working with cinemaDNG's from the BMCC EF

3. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
JSS1138 Nov 3, 2013 12:21 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)OK.
So...now that support is native, why the proxy?

4. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 3, 2013 12:47 PM (in response to JSS1138)Cause I started the project earlier this month before they released the update

5. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
JSS1138 Nov 3, 2013 12:49 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)Got it.
Well, I don't have any media to test with. You'll have to be the guinea pig here. Start a new project for testing, bring in some of the proxy media, make a few cuts, then try and replace it.
Please do report back the results.

6. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 3, 2013 12:52 PM (in response to JSS1138)yeah I tried already without luck. offlined the .mov proxy, navigated to the CinemaDNG folder and teh check box for show as sequence is greyed out so I can only select an individual frame as the relink target.

7. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
JSS1138 Nov 3, 2013 12:54 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)Try the Replace Footage... command in the bin instead of taking it offline.

8. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 3, 2013 12:57 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)oh wait I may have had success using Replace media. even though the import as sequence option was greyed out it looks like it still interprets the sequence just selecting the 1st frame.

9. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 3, 2013 12:58 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)Yup that worked, may even work with the offline and relink method. This is great!

10. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 3, 2013 5:02 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)Well what's less exciting is that I'll have to manually relink all 200 clips

11. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 12, 2013 3:22 AM (in response to Lumi Tine)Ok just spent 5 hours relinking .mov's to the original .dng sequence and grading the .dng's. After 5 hours of grading, all of a sudden the lut that premiere applies to the .dng sequences changed from a video to film style lut. Which doesn't seem possible since there's no ACR in premiere. So I lost 5 hours grading the .dng's because all my original grades now look like they've had mud poured on them.
What is going on here?! How can I tell premiere what lut to apply to all the .dng sequences? Or atleast how to tell premiere to go back to looking at the .dng's like they've got a video lut applied.

12. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
strypesinpost Nov 12, 2013 4:40 AM (in response to Lumi Tine)Hi Lumi Tine,
Try quitting Premiere and SG and restarting Premiere. If that doesn't work, rebuild the cache.
I won't grade Cinema DNG in SG via direct link right now if I were you. Why? Because you're grading with a Rec709 LUT applied to the footage. Direct support in Premiere is great and unprecedented for an NLE, and the workflow between the two apps is fantastic, but I'll wait for access to the raw settings in Premiere/SG before I start grading Cinema DNG via direct link. I'll prefer to use the EDL workflow to SG.

13. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
Lumi Tine Nov 12, 2013 4:37 PM (in response to strypesinpost)Yeah I wasn't even using speedgrade, I was just using rgb curves and brightness and contrast in Premiere. And yeah I realize I'm on the bleeding edge of this seeing as CinemaDNG just got added like a week ago. But I can't make any sense of why Premiere would suddenly change all the raw footage to a flat profile suddenly. And you were right, after restarting premiere, all the raw footage looks like it has a video lut applied to it again. Very weird.

14. Re: Can .mov's be relinked to DNG sequences?
strypesinpost Nov 12, 2013 9:47 PM (in response to Lumi Tine)Yes. You are right on the bleeding edge. This level of support for editing native Cinema DNG is the first of its kind in any NLE. Great that you can edit, but I'll do the finishing elsewhere unless some guy decides to shoot raw for quick turnaround same day event highlights. :P But do make a bug report so issues like this can be resolved.
