1. Re: Why does a cross dissolve delay my zoom effect?
Jon-M-Spear Nov 7, 2013 3:38 AM (in response to old pro)1. What colour is the render bar above the clip0; red; green; yellow? If it's red, you need to render the sequence.
2. Why are you using black footage? Why not fade up the JPEG from 0% opacity.

2. Re: Why does a cross dissolve delay my zoom effect?
[r]Evolution Nov 7, 2013 4:09 AM (in response to old pro)When you add a Cross Dissolve between two clips (or any Transition) you add frames to the beginning of the 2nd clip as well as to the end of the 1st clip. This is identified by the placement of the Transition box/block.
You can:
- move your Opacity key frames of the 2nd clip to the beginning of the dissolve.
- slide your Transition (Start at Cut) to the Right (you may have to move key frames of the 1st clip to match the placement of the Transition)
- put your clips on seperate tracks and just dissolve to/from one of them.

old pro Nov 7, 2013 6:04 AM (in response to Jon-M-Spear)I was scared to leave a gap in the timeline.
I was scared it might get ripple deleted or something...
Do most people leave gaps without footage?

Jon-M-Spear Nov 7, 2013 7:37 AM (in response to old pro)I don't know whether most people do, but I often do.
Did you check whether it needs rendering?

shooternz Nov 19, 2013 4:34 PM (in response to old pro)I have plenty of gaps in various video layers but never a "gap" in the entire Sequence.
