Lilybiri Nov 7, 2013 9:35 AM (in response to rygaar)You can fill a smart shape with a Texture. Why not have a shape with the size of the file and fill it that way? Would you use it on a Master slide? Didn't check what happens when you merge it afterwards into the background there.

rygaar Nov 7, 2013 6:02 PM (in response to Lilybiri)Lilybiri,
Thanks for your suggestion. filling a smart shape with the texture is a clever idea but I run into the same problem; the Fill operation doesn't stack the images one on top of the other. What I mean is, my project is 600 px high, and instead of using an image 600 px high I'd like to stack (repeat) a much smaller image (60px high) to keep project size down. When I fill the smart shape, the smaller image is not stacked, but used just once and stretched to fill the smart shape. as a result, the texture (the fill image) looks distorted and blurry.
Maybe this means that I would have to manually insert the 60px high image ten times over, line all the instances on top of each other to take up the full height of the project, and merge them to the background.

4. Re: how to auto-repeat background image? (CP7)
rygaar Nov 8, 2013 9:03 AM (in response to Lilybiri)Lilybiry, you were correct. I had missed the Tile option.
Now I'll need to compare output file size between a file with a large image as background, and a file with a smartshaped filled with a smaller tiled image as background.
Thank you

6. Re: how to auto-repeat background image? (CP7)
rygaar Nov 8, 2013 9:32 AM (in response to Lilybiri)I had a one slide project of dimensions 818 by 590

I published 3 SWFs using identical settings (compression, slide quality etc...)

7. Re: how to auto-repeat background image? (CP7)
Lilybiri Nov 8, 2013 9:39 AM (in response to rygaar)Had hoped it would reduce the size, but it didn't. Thanks for posting,
Lilybiri
